2007-17-08 Summer... *sniff*

I love fast Internet connection. As much I enjoyed spending summer with my parents and boyfriend, I’m very happy that it’s behind now. Well Jo is here still (about 5 weeks left) but it’s bit different to be just with him, without mom and dad.
Earlier it was quite clear for us that Jo will move in Finland but now we have started thinking other options. Like me moving to Germany. In a way I would love that. But on the other hand it’s not easy thing. But somehow I’d imagine that if I ever get studies done and learn the German language for me it’d be easier to get a job in Germany than for Jo in Finland. Well time shows. I just would like to live under same roof as soon as possible.

I renewed my hosting/domain contract, so this is the second year for Moonthology.org. I was already going to change provider but then I ended up staying with the old one. I was even thinking getting completely new domain. Maybe next year (new provider).
I had some major problems with my site during the summer and I ended up changing the CMS from Wordpress to Textpattern. I’m still doing things because usually when I started doing something with my pages after few minutes I wanted to kill the computer because the connection was so slow. Well the only change is that there’s different CMS now, which I hope works better than WP(Wordpress).
My Dear Computer and how I have been torturing it.
Okey I guess blabbering about my laptop goes under “Online”. Well it’s not super machine, definitely not, but I like it. When I bought it, it had Windows Vista installed. It had nice sides and some not so nice sides. Then I installed Ubuntu Feisty Fawn as a second OS. Then someone planted a ideaein my brains, replace Vista with XP. Which I did. Of course it was completely my own fault but I’d like to blame little bit this certain someone too
. Anyways, XP worked definitely faster than Vista. It just was too old for my computer (I assume that it didn’t know quite where it was) so I couldn’t access Internet, sounds weren’t working (except horrible “beeb” -sound) and most importantly I wasn’t able to use my dear Ubuntu. So now I have two Feisty Fawns inside the laptop… cool… Well I probably will install either Vista back or some other Linux OS. I have been thinking Gentoo, Mandriva or Open Suse (If you have any experiences of those I’d be happy to hear). So what did I learn from this: Thinking twice clearly isn’t enough.
And now that I’m at home again, I’ll be more active with my site.
