I’m lucky enough that in Finland we don’t need to suffer of this. I love subtitles! I debated once about this subject with my German friend (I like you even though you didn’t agree… your cake was superior emo ). She said you can concentrate better in plot. My opinion is that you can’t. Oh why? Well how do you know it’s dubbed correctly? Maybe in manuscript they were talking about apples and translator decided that they’re talking about potatoes now. And most importantly those little things which make authentic but are difficult to translate disappear. It just looks plain stupid when Gérard Depardieu talks German in American film.

Of course there’s also non artistic reason. You learn. It’s sounds silly that you could learn English by watching Emmerdale or Bold and the Beautiful, but tell that to my mom.

This entry was inspired by her, visit also here and if German is strange language for you go then here.

Dear possible readers...

Well it just came in mind after I added Angel Slave. Perhaps I should warn you... My poems contains sex, violence, maybe drugs and rock 'n' roll too. Sorrow after losing love, joy after finding love, cute little stories and some not so cute stories. It's fiction, don't take it too seriously.
